“We are looking at infrastructure improvements to our emergency department and doing some (new) equipment purchasing,” says Laxdal. “All of it is for the benefits of our patients, it’s really been a gift from the BCMH and we are hoping to use it appropriately.”

Laxdal says refunding has allowed them to increase manpower during the day for five hours. The double coverage he hopes to alleviate patient waiting periods.
