Police catch car thief

Early this morning, just after midnight RCMP got a report of a stolen vehicle from the 500 block of the Island highway.

“At approximately 1AM the stolen Mercury was located and stopped by a patrolling officer,” says Police spokesman Craig Massey. “A 23 year-old female was taken into custody and faces charges of theft and driving while prohibited.”

Sergeant Massey says they found her and the stolen vehicle on 16th avenue.
