Cortes Island artist nominated for VIMA

An 18 year-old Carihi Secondary graduate has been nominated for two Vancouver Island Music Awards.

Francesca Belcourt has been nominated for Youth Artist of the year and Best Music Video of the year.

“It’s really awesome to be recognized by the Island, says Belcourt. “There are so many musicians these days because you can just make your own music in your own bedroom, like I do.  To be recognized out of all them is really nice.”

The awards will be handed out in Victoria on April 21^st at the Fairfield United Church.
